Jason Nelson Speaks on Christian Gospel Music Ministers After Popularity and Sales.
Jason Nelson took the his social media platform twitter, facebook and Instagram on the 2nd of June, 2016 to express his Concerning for Gospel Music:
Jason Nelson – I still believe in the call to write, produce, and sing gospel music in all its various forms and iterations.
In pursuit of popularity, however, some of those who represent the Gospel in music and its culture have fallen away from The Sound for the sake of “sales”.
We are no longer creating a new sound or dynamic in the earth for the sake of chasing a genre or feel.
The CGM (Christian Gospel Music) “feel” isn’t the only expression of music that heaven hears. We must go back to the heart of GOD to facilitate heaven’s sound on earth.
Sales can’t be the prevailing/determining factor when we write any more than a “radio hit” can.
Many have decided or are deciding to alter their approach for the sake of sustainability. Is that your assignment or are we tired of waiting on GOD to open the CORRECT DOOR?
I pray that our hearts be re-sensitized to the Heart of GOD and the cadence of HIS heartbeat.
Popularity in many ways is the antithesis of a Spiritual assignment. It may come as a result of obedience (or great marketing).
Let’s make sure our motives mirror GOD’s intent for our lives. I STILL believe great things are in store for those who sing/represent the gospel community.
