Us Wildfires ease as rain reaches Pacific coast
Welcome rainfall has at last made its way into the northwestern US.
Even more welcome is the news that there has recently been some rain making its way into California where wild fires continue to burn.
Tuesday saw some good rain with over 50mm falling in parts of southern California. Los Angeles International Airport registered 45mm in 24 hours.
That is the most recorded on a single day here in over four years.

Muslim boy arrested over clock invited to White House
US President Barack Obama has issued a White House invitation to a Muslim schoolboy who was arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school.
A magnitude 8.3 earthquake has struck off the coast of Chile, killing at least five people and forcing one million to flee their homes.
The quake shook buildings late on Wednesday in the capital city of Santiago, about 280km to the south, and flooded some coastal areas under a tsunami warning.
President Michelle Bachelet said she planned to travel to the areas worst affected by the quake, the biggest to hit the world’s top copper producer since 2010.
4. Forensic experts identify second of 43 Mexico Students
The remains of another of 43 missing student teachers has been identified by forensic experts at the University of Innsbruck in Austria, Mexico’s attorney general has said.
Arely Gomez said the student is Jhosivani Guerrero de la Cruz of the town of Omeapa, in the southern state of Guerrero, where the students disappeared nearly a year ago.
He is the second to be identified after Alexander Mora Venancio was identified last December.

Military claims control of Burkina Faso amid unrest
The military in Burkina Faso has taken to the airwaves to declare it now controls the country, confirming that a coup has taken place – just weeks before national elections.
In the announcement aired early on Thursday on national television and radio, the statement said that the transitional government in the West African country had been dissolved.
The statement came a day after members of the elite presidential guard unit of the military arrested the transitional president and prime minister.

Rugby referees to get tough on football- like diving
Rugby World Cup officials have been told to sin-bin players who dive or feign injury during matches in a bid to clamp down on a growing football culture in the game.
Players appealing to referees to award penalties will also be punished.Diving is not specifically banned in rugby but referees had been ordered to treat it as “ungentlemanly conduct” and issue a straight yellow card.An accumulation of three yellow cards or warnings will lead to a judicial hearing and possible ban.
7. British Olympic Champion will miss the 2015- 2018 World cup
The Briton, Lizzy Yarnold has won Olympic, World, European and overall World Cup golds in the last two years- exertions which have left her feeling ‘burnt out’. Earlier this week, ex- world champion Kristan Bromley and team mate, Rose McGrande both retired from sport.
Yarnold, however insists she is not quitting and will return rejuvenated for the defence of her Olympic crown at the 2018 games.
