Christmas Music: Follow The Star – Ayokunle Shofu feat. Iriju [FREE DOWNLOAD]
In the spirit of the season, Ayokunle Shofu releases an awesome song titled Follow the star featuring Iriju. This Christmas story song is produced by Olajuwon Johnson of Creative mynd production, mixed by Olufemi Okunuga and mastered by Oluwadamilare Akinyede. The graphic design was crafted by steward design house.
That favourite season of the year is here again!!! The birth of our saviour is no small celebration. Round the world, almost everyone is preparing to celebrate the remembrance of our king and Messiah.
The three wise men saw a star and followed it; the star led them to Jesus. This new music “Follow the star” is very timely indeed. Christmas is just a few days away but what is the celebration of the day without knowing the person being celebrated – Jesus Christ.
About Artiste
Ayokunle Shofu “Bolaji”, a poet, singer and songwriter is a music adventurer who loves to explorer various styles in sync with a unique soulful tone. He is also a technical director with the National Youth Choir of the RCCG. “Its GOODNEWS” is the message that has kept him in the midst of hopelessness and sheltered him from the storms of life. An accapella group “All for God” which he joined in June 1999 further fueled his passion for music
Talking about this year’s Christmas, Ayokunle Shofu says “he is reminded of his first Christmas away from home in Mbula kingdom Borrong, Demsa local government Area, Adamawa state during his Nysc days. He dedicates this song to his family in Borrong for giving him the best Christmas yet. He also dedicates it to all the people of Nigeria especially Adamawa, tone, and Borno who fought and won the war against terror”.
Also, while introducing the person he featured on the song – Iriju. He says that in 2010, he had written close to 80 songs and was impressed about his achievement. He had an uncle who he was eager to meet and show his song book. He finally met the man and flyer going through a few sheets, he smiled and said,“Kunle you tell good stories in these songs but your songs lack good rhyme, it will be hard for people to remember them”
It has been seven years since that meeting took place and that uncle is Iriju who featured on this song “Follow the Star”. The song was first performed by RCCG national young adults and youth choir in December 2015 and even after its release, it only keeps getting better and he tenders an apology for releasing the song late.
