South-Africa-based Congolese gospel singer, songwriter, and recording artiste, Samuel Mubenesha, professionally known as Sam the Psalmist, delivers a new single with colorful music visuals titled “Breakthrough”.

A deeply personal and spiritually significant song, it features the talented Eskay and is accompanied by well-written lyrics. The video is shot and directed by Tebogo Mphohle for Kagophotography, and Javas Twotone Mtimkulu Ntando.

Sam talks about the song: “The song “Breakthrough” came from a particularly difficult period in my life, following the loss of my father to COVID-19. Finding it difficult to connect with God through prayers, I experienced a moment of clarity and inspiration.”

He continues: “This divine encounter was a turning point for me, leading to the completion of the song during subsequent devotional times. This song is a symbol of hope and healing, reflecting my journey from despair to a renewed connection with God.”

Sam The Psalmist was born on September 5, 1988, and hails from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). His music is not just about performance but a prophetic form of worship. With a background as a chemical engineer and a Master’s degree, Sam’s intellectual and professional accomplishments complement his musical passion.
