[News] Debsandy Set For Movie Release, “Silent Pain”
Irish-Nigerian Movie producer, Composer, and Gospel music singer, Dr. Deborah Onyema widely known as Debsandy, is set to release a new movie titled, “Silent Pain,” on November 11, 2023.
This new emotional, action-packed, and educational film is shot in Owerri and in parts of the United Kingdom. It will be released in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and the United States, and will also be available on YouTube.
It has its storyline and songs along religiously motivated marriages. It sees Lilian, a born-again Christian who married late in life after rejecting numerous suitors due to her faith and dread of marital crises, become a victim of her own anxiety.
Speaking on the project, Deborah says; “What God has brought together, no one can separate. And a madman passing by said, “That is if they (the couple) don’t put themselves apart by themselves.”
“Divorce is a “No” if one is a Christian, even if domestic abuse is a daily occurrence in that family.
I was inspired and motivated to portray a character from a novel I created a few years ago about my late twin brother. My first real supporters were my late twin brother and my spouse.” – she continues.
“This new movie is inspired by some of the stories individuals told me about their relationships and how their faith has influenced them both positively and adversely.” – Debsandy concludes.
She is a mental health practitioner, author, and producer of Nollywood films. She is also the Founder of the “Debsandy I Care Foundation,” a foundation that helps widows and the less privileged; to mentor, and empower young people.
Debsandy is also the founder of a young group called “iCare Youth Health Awareness,” raising awareness about drugs, alcohol, suicide, and bullying.
