SORRY is a conceptual-performance theater project between Monster truck-Germany and the Footprints of David -Nigerian choreographed by Segun Adefila dealing with the (im) possibilities of an encounter at eye level in the shade asymmetric postcolonial power relations.
On a white playing surface take five smart boys from Bariga, a popular ART thriving district of the Nigerian mega-city Lagos, a thick, white man. Childlike Innocence meets deep proverbial stranger who offers children chocolate, postcolonial of opportunities to the stereotypical portrayal of Europe’s colonial guilt, contemporary Nigerian dance on European Approach Theater.
A horror film of the very own nature takes its course – as an intercultural meeting as nightmarish game without frontiers, in which ultimately is not clear who is the winner. Who is in the end depends on whom? Who benefits from this meeting in which way? And who is the vampire who just sucks the other?
