‘LEAVE TRASH FOR LAWMA’

The title above is a trending slogan that was cut out from the speech of a Nigerian artiste, who was trying to make a point out of his own opinion concerning a matter that grieves him dearly. This slogan as you know has gone viral on the social media and it carries a relatively simple meaning based on its context.

The Lagos Waste Management Authority popularly known as ‘LAWMA’ is known for taking care and disposal of waste across Lagos State. Now the acronym is used figuratively to express a fact of disposing a certain judgment and taking it away from the mind or public.

On this note, we shall also use this acronym to send you a message and title it, ‘Leave your Trash Life for LAWMA’

THE obvious definition is ‘TRASH’ is something useless, worthless, something no longer in use, refuse, rubbish, poor, and any other adjective you can find to qualify this word.

Another question we should ask is; What is Life? The best way to understand this word is to look at the opposite of it, ‘Death’. But Life is the existence of any living thing, co-habiting with other creatures that are alive and reproducing.

Now that we have been able to give appropriate definition to the key words of this article we shall further look into the message.

HOW CAN LIFE BE A TRASH

At what point can an individual’s life be categorized as ‘TRASH’; one who is homosexual, lesbian, adulterer, fornicator, unthankful, unholy, liar, thief, proud in heart, and Sin is a life classified a TRASH! I have a prove to this;

‘Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.’ (Galatians 5:19-21)

If you find yourself in this category, then your Life is a Trash, no offence it’s the Truth without apologies!

Going further; Late Myles Munroe said, ‘the greatest tragedy in life is not death but a man who did not fulfill purpose.’

Believe me, a Life without PURPOSE is a Trash. Man must discover purpose and with that at hand, he must pursue every day with a scent of vision as a driving force.

What is Purpose? Purpose is having a definition and clear priority of responsibility of a particular activity that needs to be done within a given period of time.

Yet, the best definition is tagged as this; Purpose is the precise duty God has given you to do on Earth.

An example of this definition can be found in Ecclesiastes 12:13, ‘Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.’

In order to avoid a Trash life, you must discover Purpose, either early or late. Also, note, it is never too late to discover purpose. We can’t talk about Purpose without talking about ‘VISION’.

What is Vision? Vision is the clear picture of unseen realities.

Vision is a kind of goal that you must create in a systematic inorder to remain focused on your purpose. Infact, you must create series of visions, and achieve them inorder step up with your Purpose. Doing all of this will help add value to your life and avoid being a Trash!

Most importantly, note that anything you do outside God’s grace is relative to trash. Engage yourself in life activities that add value to people around you, make use of your talents and resources and put your trust in God by praying and believing God’s word.

Living a materialistic life is soon becoming a Trash! Focus on God for all your needs, Philippians 4:19, ‘But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’
