[Music + Video] Odogwu – Joy Okeke
US-based Nigerian indigenous gospel artiste, Joy Okeke, drops a powerful new single titled “Odogwu,” with an accompanying music video.
The Igbo titled song [a language widely spoken in the eastern part of Nigeria], which translates to mean “Great Warrior,” stands as more than just a musical project.
According to the singer, it is a deeply personal testimony of God’s faithfulness through seasons of challenge, waiting, victory, and triumph.
“This is more than a song; it is my testimony. Through every challenge, every season of waiting, every victory, and every trial, God has been faithful. He has fought my battles, lifted me when I couldn’t stand, and shown Himself mighty in my life,” Okeke shares.
The song celebrates God as defender, protector, and mighty warrior, the One who secures victories for His people. Rooted in indigenous Gospel influences and strong cultural expression, the track blends heartfelt worship with vibrant praise elements, creating an atmosphere of both reflection and celebration.
Okeke explains that the song is her expression of gratitude and declaration of faith; “This song is my praise, my gratitude, and my declaration of God’s power and faithfulness. I pray that when people listen, they are reminded of God’s greatness in their lives, too, to dance, worship, and rejoice because the Great Warrior never fails.”
The official music video amplifies the themes of victory, strength, and gratitude that define the song.
The song is now available on major streaming platforms worldwide.
