DEBORAH GENERATION

IF GOD WROTE A POEM ABOUT THE WOMEN OF THIS GENERATION, WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?
I have seen the derision of my virgins
I have been to the house of the Elders
They teach tradition
I have seen the simple hearted women
With the Just woman, set aside
Both in position with men of valor
The simple hearted woman promotes her husband
The Just is left stranded in the hands of immorality
Immorality is the law, the Just woman will never follow
Fear consumes because of lack of knowledge
Complacency hunts the Just woman
The Simple woman relates with her kind
Forgetting the use of her womanhood to manhood
The Just is lonely
The Simple woman has taken her groom
I have not heard the cry of the Simple Woman
I have yet seen the tears of the Just woman
Nations have no preeminence with their birth

Many times preachers have used Patriarchs to explain the nature and model of the features God is looking for in any man. Popular bible characters have become household tales that it no longer sounds significant in the ears.
This generation especially have counted the stories of the bible as irrelevant to the so called “21st century or modernization”. Yet, it is amazing that the things they believe in that should make them ‘something’ as turned them into insignificant children of their heavenly Father.
When we expect them to provide solutions to this world’s greatest problem, we find out they are adding to it, destroying many ancient moral standard and exchanging it with new rules that fit only their way of life without rebuke. This cuts across both gender, both are to be blamed.
Now to preach gender-equality will on the long run become a menace to many religions as though, many religions in the world today have long standing clauses with gender definition. Why not preach gender-submission where the truth about the male and the female is separated and having both in submission to the Will of God from creation.
Today, Deborah is the case study. During her days, there was a problem. Among her perverse generation, their sinful way of life had thrown the nation into the hands of slavery, the nation Israel. Deborah would remain faithful to the laws and principles of God even in the strange land she found herself.
She is a prophetess, married to Lappidoth. During those days, the nation of Israel lived under Judges and Prophets, not under kings like other nations. Deborah was their judge and when the time came for God to have mercy upon them, to deliver them, He led her through to lead Israel into freedom.

“Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, judged Israel at that time. She sat under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and Israelites came up to her for judgment. And she sent and called Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Napthali and said to him, Has not the Lord, the God of Israel, commanded [you], Go, gather your men at Mount Tabor, taking 10,000 men from the tribes of Napthali and Zebulun? And I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army, to meet you at the river Kishon with his chariots and his multitude, and I will deliver him into your hand? And Barak said to her, if you will not go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go. And she said, I will surely go with you; nevertheless, the trip you take will not be for your glory, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.” Judges 4:4-9.

The Deborah Generation is in question in this generation; Can we find such women in this generation? Women who would provide solution to national troubles? Deborah, from this scripture we’ll notice she is not just a prophet and a judge; she is also a warrior without fear. If there is one thing young ladies should learn from this scripture is that, God can use them if they are willing to be used by God even though He had chosen them. Many at times, the lot of the work is left in the hands of men. Taking over the responsibility of a man to solve national problems is not the right approach and this is the gospel of gender equality? The understanding that God had chosen you should be the first nudge you will get to lay hands on any step of procuring a solution to any matter.

During the days of Ehud, a man God raised to deliver the children of Israel in Judges 3:1-31, after his death as recorded in Judges 4:1, they swayed from the ways of the Lord and as usual, He would deliver them into the hands of their enemies. Sometimes, I count this funny a routine of God to Israel, each time they disobey him, He’ll always let their enemies take them captive. After the death of this man Ehud, God raised men, and one of them is Deborah. They are in captivity, under the rule of Jabin king of Canaan, with his general, Sisera who had a host of army, including Nine Hundred iron war chariots. When God decided to have mercy on them, Deborah was his vessel and some other persons.

Looking at the present condition of Nigeria in relation with that of the Israelites in this scripture, we would see some similarities. Any nation under the rule of another nation, under another government is a slave to such kingdom. Nigeria is a slave to the government of Sin because we have disobeyed our God who loves us.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness” Romans 6:16 (Old-KJV)

YET, God in His infinite wisdom had given us gifts that are able to help us gain freedom for the slavery Sin has put us. He had created people like Deborah in this nation, He had planted them among us but do we do to them? We teach them heresies, telling them that they can’t afford to say the truth because it will get them in trouble. We molest them, rape, disown, tribalism, marry them of off before mature stage, kidnap them, call them second class citizens, trade them sexually, we also allow them to make demonic choices of being a lesbian.

If there is going to be any Deborah generation, women must understand their place in creation, even in creation of the universe.
“Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.” Genesis 2:18.
Women are not just meant to complete the puzzle for men but to help men do what God wants them to do, either directly or indirectly. This is the case of Deborah, she might be a warrior but not like a man, a man like Barak whom used with 10, 000 men to defeat the army of their enemies, Sisera and the King Jabin of Canaan.
